Faith-based organization New Beginnings' losses put at $3,500 after break-in
CLERMONT — New Beginnings, a faith-based organization whose mission is to help the homeless and unemployed in south Lake, was left with smashed doors, broken locks, missing cash, a laptop and cameras after a break-in this week at its main office.
Employee Jeannette Ruffin arrived for work at 743 E. Montrose St., shortly before 8 a.m. Tuesday and discovered a glass door had been shattered. When officers arrived they found doors to offices inside the building had either been forced open or their locks severed. The ministry's food bank was untouched.
